Moved by the charitable spirit of the Christmas season, VistaGraphics, Inc.--Hampton Roads Magazine's publisher--was inspired to give back to the community last month. Given our publisher, Randy Thompson’s affinity for the Judeo-Christian Outreach Center, the company collectively decided to dedicate our time there.

Founded in 1986, the Judeo-Christian Outreach Center serves the Hampton Roads community by providing a safe shelter and warm, wholesome meals, as well as education and mentorship to those in crisis, battling drug or alcohol addiction. Since its inception, the JCOC has served over half a million meals to those in need, and VistaGraphics was humbled to contribute to that service.

On January 3, we prepared a dinner of red chili, white bean chili, sandwiches and homemade desserts for the residents of the shelter. We were fortunate to share this experience with Troop 4203, Kings Grant Service Unit, a local Girl Scouts troop in the area that helped serve the meals. Though our time at the outreach center was brief, the spirit of community, generosity and working together will with us throughout the year.
